Quick answer
Yes, you can whiten your teeth during a short trip to Seoul. In-office whitening at our Gongdeok clinic takes one visit of about 60–90 minutes. The dentist checks your enamel and sensitivity first, records your shade before and after, and gives you aftercare tips for the next 48 hours. The fee is ₩250,000 including VAT when you book online.
What's included
- A short check of your teeth and gums to make sure whitening is suitable
- Your shade recorded before and after, so you can see the change
- Gum protection and professional whitening gel applied in the chair
- Sensitivity care built into the session
- Aftercare advice for coffee, tea and Korean food during your trip
Is whitening right for you?
Whitening works on natural enamel. It does not change the colour of crowns, veneers or fillings, and it isn't suitable while you have untreated decay or very sensitive teeth. If we find a problem at the check, we tell you before starting and you decide whether to go ahead.
When to book it on your trip
Many visitors book whitening towards the end of their stay, after a check-up or scaling. Cleaning first removes tartar and surface stains so the gel works evenly. For about 48 hours afterwards, avoid strongly coloured food and drink such as coffee, red wine, kimchi stew and tteokbokki sauce.
Sensitivity afterwards
Some people feel short, sharp twinges for a day or two. This usually settles by itself, and a toothpaste for sensitive teeth helps. Tell us beforehand if your teeth are already sensitive so we can adjust the session.
Consultations are in English or Korean.
Questions patients ask
How much is teeth whitening?
In-office whitening is ₩250,000 including VAT when you book online (regular fee ₩275,000). A check-up, scaling and whitening package in one visit is ₩330,000 online.
How long do whitening results last?
It depends on diet and habits. Many people keep a noticeably brighter shade for months, and touch-ups can extend it. Smoking and dark drinks shorten it.
Is teeth whitening covered by insurance?
No. Whitening is cosmetic, so Korean National Health Insurance does not cover it and 10% VAT applies. Most travel insurance doesn't cover it either.
Can I whiten if I have crowns or veneers on my front teeth?
Whitening only lightens natural teeth. Crowns, veneers and fillings keep their colour, so we check whether the result would look even before you decide.
Can I have scaling and whitening on the same trip?
Yes. Scaling first, then whitening on the same day or a later day, is a common combination for a few days in Seoul.
