Quick answer
If your jaw clicks, hurts or locks, or you grind your teeth, we start with a diagnosis on the first day using digital imaging and a functional examination. Treatment is usually non-surgical. Depending on the cause, it combines medication, physical therapy, Botox, PDRN injections and a splint (night guard) designed from a 3D scan.
Signs worth checking
- Pain in front of the ear, in the jaw or at the temples
- Clicking, popping or grating when you open your mouth
- Limited opening, or a jaw that locks
- Waking up with tired jaw muscles or headaches
- Worn, chipped or cracked teeth from grinding
How we diagnose
We examine how your jaw opens and moves, check the muscles and joints and look at your bite. Digital imaging shows the joint itself when needed. The aim is to find the cause, because joint, muscle and bite problems are treated differently.
Treatment options
- Medication and physical therapy to calm pain and muscle tension
- Botox for overactive jaw muscles
- PDRN injections to support recovery around the joint
- An occlusal splint (night guard) designed from a 3D scan to protect the teeth and ease jaw strain
- Advice on posture, chewing and clenching habits
If you're only in Seoul briefly
The examination and diagnosis can be done in one visit, and you go home with a written summary and treatment plan. A night guard needs a scan and a short wait while it is made, so tell us your travel dates and we plan around them.
Consultations are in English or Korean.
Questions patients ask
How much does TMJ treatment cost?
A TMJ examination is ₩45,000 when you book online (regular ₩50,000), and an occlusal splint (night guard) designed from a 3D scan is ₩370,000 (regular ₩400,000). The cost of therapy depends on your plan, which we confirm before starting.
Will TMJ pain go away on its own?
Mild symptoms often settle with rest, soft food and less clenching. If pain, locking or limited opening lasts more than a few weeks, a proper examination is worthwhile.
Is a night guard the same as a sports mouthguard?
No. A night guard is a hard splint fitted precisely to your bite. Soft guards sold over the counter can sometimes make clenching worse.
Do you do jaw surgery?
No. Our treatment is non-surgical. If your case needs surgery, we explain why and refer you to a hospital specialist.
How many visits does TMJ treatment take?
Diagnosis is on the first day. Some therapies are repeated over several weeks, so we plan what can be done during your stay and what can continue at home.
